FOUNDER- Betty A. Mendieta
Betty A. Mendieta is a dedicated Physical Education and Health educator with nearly two decades of experience fostering student growth, wellness, and athletic development. Currently teaching at Rosa L. Parks Arts High School in Paterson, New Jersey, she works with both general education and special needs students, creating inclusive and engaging learning environments that promote lifelong health and fitness.
In addition to her work in education, Betty brings a strong background in athletics and program leadership. As a player, she was a 1300 point scorer at North Bergen High School receiving All- County and All- State honors. Her accomplishments led her to a full ride to Adelphi University where she holds the steals per game record and ranks amongst the all-time assist leaders. She has served as Director of Basketball Operations at New Jersey City University and has been actively involved with the New York Knicks and Liberty organization, coordinating community programs, youth development initiatives, and large-scale events.
A constant student of the game, Betty became a certified NJSIAA Official in 2018. She also is a Certified Coach within the USA Basketball, NBPA, 5-Star and Basketball City organizations.
A passionate coach, Betty has contributed to championship-level collegiate programs and has years of experience mentoring student-athletes at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. Her commitment to leadership, teamwork, and community engagement extends beyond the classroom, helping students and athletes reach their full potential.
Betty holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health from Adelphi University and is certified in New York and New Jersey. She is currently enrolled in the Sport and Performance Psychology program at Rutgers University. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and brings a well-rounded skill set that combines education, athletics, and community impact.
